JOB 40:6-42:17

When confronted with the reality of God, Job is forced to confess his sin and error. In his repentance, he is able to draw near to God and experience a renewed intimacy with him. He is then able to clearly see God work in powerful ways in his life. Like Job, we all have need to repent. We need to acknowledge our view of God has been tainted by falsities, our response to God's glory has been inadequate, and we have chosen to pursue our own glory, rather than God's. As we choose a posture of continual confession, we will experience God's forgiveness in our lives. For Job, God's work involved material prosperity beyond what he had previously experienced. For us it will probably not involve this, but we will experience spiritual blessings of joy, peace, contentment, etc. as we draw near to God.

Father God, I confess my sin to you. I acknowledge I far too often live for myself rather than you and your glory. Thank you for your forgiveness and help me to pursue you with my life. Amen.

Question: What would a continual posture of confession look like in your life?
