Revelation 19:1-22:21
The Bible ends where it began. We began in Genesis with a good creation and humanity enjoying relationship with God and we end with something similar. All who have placed their faith in Christ will enjoy God forever on a new earth untainted by sin or evil. Our lives will be filled for eternity with the joyous presence of God. So often our culture pictures eternity as people with wings floating on clouds, but that is nothing like what it will be. It will be like an infinitely more beautiful version of what we have now.
It will be what the world was always intended to look like, we will be who we were always intended to be, and we will be with God forever. We will enjoy the beauty of God, the beauty of creation, and the beauty of other people forever. There will be better food, better art, better fun, and better everything that we will never tire of forever. This is what awaits us and should be what motivates us to keep walking with God today.
Father God, thank you for the gift of eternal life that awaits me through Jesus. Help me through the trials of today to rest in the beauty of an eternity with you. Amen.
How does the idea of living on a new earth for eternity compare with your view of eternity?
