1 Corinthians 14:1-15:58
What are we trying to communicate to people when we get into a spiritual conversation with them? It can sometimes feel overwhelming to know where to start and what to share. Paul helps us by boiling things down into that which is of "first importance" in 1 Corinthians 15. We are to make our main message that Jesus died for our sins and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. When we are struggling to figure out what to say, what we need to tell people is that Jesus died on the cross for their sins and rose from the dead. According to Paul the evidence for these claims is Jesus was buried (evidence of his death) and he appeared to hundreds of people over a lengthy period (evidence of his resurrection).
We can have all sorts of interesting conversations with people, but if we do not get to Jesus' death and resurrection, we have missed the most important thing. So, the next time you turn a conversation to something significant, turn it to Jesus. Then share how Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. Make sure you share the best stuff!
Father God, thank you for Jesus' death and resurrection. Thank that he died for my sins and rose so that I might have life. Help me to share this message with others today. Amen.
Who has God put in your life so you can share Jesus' death and resurrection with them?
