Psalm 105-106

We are all missionaries. Every one of us is proclaiming the greatness of something and encouraging others to participate in that. It may be a restaurant we ate at recently, it may be a movie or book, or it may be God, but we are all continuously sharing what we enjoy with others. Psalm 105 commands us to “make known among the nations what he has done” (to be a missionary/a disciple who makes disciples), but then tells us a means of doing so is praise. Psalm 105 praises God for what he has done in the past for Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and the nation of Israel.

This psalm of praise becomes a missionary endeavor, because it calls people to recognize God's greatness and join the praise chorus. Our neighbors may not recognize a need to praise God for what he has done in the past for Israel, but when they see us praise God for what he has done and is doing in front of them, it very well may impact their lives. Did God just show up in your life in a powerful way? Then share that with someone who is far from God. Your praise just might draw them into praising God with you.

Father God, help me to publicly praise you. Help me to declare your greatness in front of others today and invite them to join me in praising you, because you are worthy of praise. Amen.

In a natural way, how can you begin to praise God in front of people who do not know him?
