Psalm 92-97

What do you picture when you think of God? This view will impact the way you live, so it is important that we have the right view of him. Thankfully the Scriptures and especially the psalms give us several pictures of God. Psalm 92 presents him as a rock. The one upon whom our lives are to be built. Psalms 93 and 97 present him as the eternal king of the universe. Psalm 94 presents him as judge. He is the one who will deal with all wickedness and vanquish evil. In Psalm 95 God is seen as the creator. He made everything; therefore, all is his. Psalm 96 adds to these by describing God as our savior. He is the one who brings deliverance, forgiveness, and adoption into his family.

When our view of God is clouded, it is critical we come back to whom he has revealed himself to be. We need to see God as our rock, king, judge, creator, and Savior. The more accurate our picture of God's character, the fuller our lives, hope, and peace will be.

Father God, thank you for who you are and that your character never changes. Thank you as my rock, I can lean on you through difficulty. Thank you as my king, I can trust you to work all things according to your will. Thank you that as my Savior, I can know I am declared righteous in your sight. Amen.

Which one of the attributes mentioned above do you need to reflect more on today?
