Joshua 10:1-12:6

The Southern kings felt that Joshua was becoming too powerful, so they went to war against the Israelites. During the battle, Joshua pleaded for God to make the sun stand still in the sky, and God did just that, creating a supernatural, never-before-seen event. He then defeated the southern and northern kings and their cities. God was faithful and provided for the Israelites when they completely trusted him.

If we trust him, we can expect God to do the same for us. When we devote our lives to God, he will work things out for the good. Maybe it is not our idea of good, but it is God’s good, which is what is ultimately, truly good.

Father God, please help me to devote my entire life to you. Help me to trust that you are there and that you can provide for me. Help me to understand that God is all that I need. Not earthly possessions, intelligence, or good looks, but God is all that I need to lead a successful life. Amen.

What should I give up to be completely and fully devoted to God and the plan that he has for me?
