Isaiah 25:1-28:13; Galatians 3:10-22; Psalm 61:1-8; Proverbs 23:17-18

The Old Testament largely spotlights God’s work among Israel; therefore, it can sometimes seem like he only cares about one ethnic group. Yet we can see from both the Old and New Testaments that this is not true. God’s heart has always been for all people and thus the whole world. Isaiah 25-28 spotlights God’s work among the nations as “cities of ruthless nations will revere you” and “on this mountain, the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples.” All who come by faith will experience an eternal paradise with God, while all who reject him will reap judgment.

Galatians 3 highlights these same realities as Paul says, “The blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles.” As we consider God’s love for everyone, this should call us to replicate this love towards everyone. It is easy for other people who are not like us, but God calls us to seek to include all people into his family. Instead of building walls, we are to build bridges. Hopefully, this will enable us to see people enter into a relationship with Christ by grace through faith. So let us share with everyone, everywhere, the hope we have in Christ.

Father God, thank you for your love for all people and me. Help me to show this love to others everywhere I go. Amen.

Question:  With whom do you find it hardest to share Christ? How can you express God’s love to those people?
