Isaiah 15:1-18:7; Galatians 1:1-24; Psalm 58:1-11; Proverbs 23:12

Everyone needs salvation. No one is born saved, rather we are all separated from God and in need of the life that is only available in Jesus. Isaiah 15 begins to move from Israel, Babylon, and Assyria, to other places like Moab, Damascus, and Cush to show that everyone will ultimately fall under judgment. This is the same argument that Paul makes in Galatians. We are all under sin but through Christ, we can have hope and eternal life. Isaiah describes Jesus in 16:5 when he says, “In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it—one from the house of David.” He wrote this roughly 700 years before the birth of Jesus. Then Paul writing a few years after Jesus’ death reminds the church that he “gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age.” Both Isaiah and Paul, and all of Scripture points to the reality that the salvation we need is only available in Jesus. Our religious efforts, church attendance, and attempts at morality cannot earn what can only be received as a gift.

Salvation is available to all, but it only comes through faith. Therefore, we need to share the message of Christ with everyone we can. Outside of Christ, judgment, hell, and separation from God is the only outcome; while those in Christ reap forgiveness, glorification, and eternity on a perfect, new earth. So let us proclaim the good news of Jesus to everyone we can.

Father God, thank you for your Son. Thank you that through his perfect life, death, and resurrection, I can have life. Help me to live in him and share him with everyone I can. Amen.

Question of the day: How can you get over the hurdles that keep you from sharing Jesus?
