Colossians 1:24-4:18

One of the most challenging books I have read is called Grace Based Parenting. The premise of the book is that we are to parent in the same way God parents us. God's actions become the paradigm for our actions. Colossians tells us that following God's example is not just reserved for parenting but for all of life. For example, Colossians 3:13 tells us to, "Forgive as the Lord forgave you." We are to consider the way God has forgiven us and use that as motivation to respond in the same way to others. God’s actions become the paradigm for our actions.

Similarly, if we want to understand what a full life looks like, we need to study the life of Jesus and learn to walk in his footsteps. We need to look to our creator, designer, and Savior to understand how to live. So let us look to God’s actions to become the paradigm for ours.

Father God, help me to live in a way that reflects who you are. Help me to walk in the pattern of Jesus empowered by your Spirit and for your glory today. Amen.

Besides forgiveness, what is one specific way that you can ___________ as the Lord has ___________ you?
