Exodus 1:1-2:25; 1 Chronicles 6:1-3; Exodus 3:1-4:17

We live in a God saturated world. God is omnipresent and always at work, but we often miss what he might be doing. We see God at work in Exodus by sustaining the nation of Israel in the face of opposition, slavery, and infanticide. We see God saving a little baby boy floating on the Nile River. We see God using a murderer to deliver his people out of slavery, and God speaking out of a burning bush. God's hands are working throughout this story, but he is also involved in the details of our lives.

He was not just at work in Egypt thousands of years ago, but he is also involved in our lives today. He is working to bring good out of terrible decisions, sins, and broken relationships. He is healing our hearts, drawing people to himself, and saving the lost. God is at work. Moses feels like he is not adequate to join God in his work, and we may feel the same way. But ultimately, God is the one who is doing the work, so we cannot fail. God is at work and calls us to be a part of the work which he is already doing in the world.

Father God, thank you that you are at work in my life. Thank you for working in our city, state, country, and around the world. We thank you that you have not left or abandoned us but continue to do your kingdom work in our broken world. Help me to have eyes to see how you are at work in and around me, and to have the courage and faith to join you. Amen.

What keeps you from seeing how God is at work and joining him?

Simply by not looking for Him or making space in my just day to listen...
