Ephesians 5:15-6:24; Colossians 1:1-23

Every part of our lives should be transformed by God. We see this language in Ephesians 5:15-20 where the Spirit's work is compared to that of alcohol. In the same way that getting drunk affects your ability to speak, act, and drive, so the Spirit should influence all that we do. With this overarching image in mind, Paul spends the next few paragraphs specifically looking at how the Spirit should transform our relationships. The way we treat spouses, family members, people at work, and finally our interactions with the devil should all be affected by the Spirit. We should learn to submit, lead, love, obey, honor, and serve in a different way than the world because of God's work in our lives.

Is this true of us? We need to learn to be under the Spirit's control, find strength in the Lord, and wear the armor of God, so we can be the people God called us to be. So, we can live transformed and walk in a new way.

Father God, help me to live transformed by you. Help me to live in a way that reflects your character, is strengthened by Jesus, and influenced by your Spirit. Amen.

How can you more purposely allow God's Spirit to influence your life?
